Completely Hand Made / Hand Wired Point to Point Construction The Crazy Horse Amp continues the high quality construction only found in classic guitar amplifiers of the 1940's, 50's, 60's. Black Volt is inspired by the raw sound of Tweed, Blackface and Marshall Plexi Amps. When pushed to their limits, these amps sounded like they were going to come loose at the joints and explode, but somehow they hung in there and ultimately became the foundation upon which blues and rock & roll was built. We have also been inspired by the untamed sound of Neil Young and Crazy Horse. Neil with his old tweed amps and humbuckers influenced the sound of so many different artists, like a force of nature, Like a Hurricane. Other amps, like Trainwreck and Dumble, followed similar principles to the simple, pure analog circuits of most vintage amps. In a similar manner, we voice our amps with a mixture of vintage woods and classic components to give each Crazy Horse Amp their own unique world class sound.

The Crazy Horse Amplifier is a single input amp that does not incorporate anything that would degrade tone, harmonic complexity or touch sensitivity, such as : reverb, master volume, an effects loop, printed circuit boards, modeling FX, foot switches, pull pots, transistors, chips, etc.
Each amplifier is skillfully crafted by hand from the best new and vintage materials. Each amplifier is voiced & tested extensively until we feel it is ready to go out into the world carrying the Black Volt Amplification trademark.
