I have a 2022 Fender Richie Kotzen Telecaster here. These do not come stock with a hard case, so this one has been matched with a basic Fender hard case. It is stock with the exception of upgraded gold Jim Dunlop USA large strap buttons, correctly installed with black felt washers under them.
Condition wise, it looks great.
The body top shows no dings, bumps, or penetrating finish scratches. Any superficial swirling is absolutely minimal and scattered. There is no buildup or any formed patterns of soft swirling or play wear. Also note that the original film sticker sleeve protector was left on the pickguard. I have pulled that off, so it is basically a brand new pickguard with no play wear on it. The gold hardware looks great, showing no fading or pitting.
The body sides and edges look great. I found no indentations, bumps, or chips. There are no neck pocket cracks, nor did I find any buildup of any soft play wear.
The body back, on the lower most area, shows a little bit of scattered superficial play wear, about an inch squared, that is about the same intensity as the light scratching guitar pick strumming makes. Beyond that minimal little amount of surface play wear, the rest of the bulk surface of the body back is on the higher side of excellent. I did not find any dings, indents, or any noticeable play wear. The gloss finish looks lustrous and mirror like.
The neck shaft contour looks and feels great with nothing to report there. The headstock is nice and clean, showing no chips or bumps. The frets are tall and meaty, showing no pits or divots. The electronics are stock and working perfectly. The hard shell case, which is a little older, has average external signs of use but is working as it should.
One minor and likely temporary mention here is that there is a very faint trace of dog smell on the case and the guitar. It does not reek of it, but if you are super sensitive to that and looking for it, you can detect just a little of that. From my experience, that tends to go away once it is out of that environment. I store a little bit of baking soda in a sandwich bag in the case too, which helps break that down quickly.
So this one rates a 9.25/10 and grades as excellent. I found just a tiny little bit of low intensity surface scratching on the lower body back, and virtually no other play wear of note. The guitar looks extremely clean, the finish looks great, and it is structurally and sonically sound and plays fantastic.
So this Tele is really a powerhouse. It has a nice thick neck, dense body, high output bridge pickup. And just sounds Huge. It has the character of a Telecaster just a particularly powerful one. The Japanese workmanship on this model is impeccable. It feels and performs like a premium instrument.
Note that this listing may come down at anytime as I am a multi-platform seller and do sell locally as well as on my site in an effort to keep sales fluid. State sales tax will be charged on Reverb sales when applicable, so factor that in to your purchase.
I will immaculately pack it as well. I use quality shipping boxes, ample tape on all sides. And sufficient bubble wrap filler and bracing inside the box. And always Marked/denoted as fragile. I generally detune guitars 1/2 half step prior to shipment as well if needed.
Thank you for reading and considering!
