Ampeg B-15N Model Tube Bass Amplifier, c. 1970, made in Linden NJ, serial # 094058, black tolex covering finish.
This
"SVT era" B-15N is the final version of the model made in Ampeg's
Linden NJ factory. The circuit is basically the same as the 1960's
version, with the addition of SVT-style "Ultra Hi" and "Ultra Lo" tone
switches to each of two discreet channels. There are four inputs (two
"bright" and two "normal") and a simplified on/off and polarity switch
lineup. Still the best recording bass amp of all time, this one sounds
as great as expected.
Height is 38 in. (96.5 cm.), 21 1/2 in.
(54.6 cm.) width, and 14 in. (35.6 cm.) deep. Nice condition overall;
still has the original speaker (dated 1970) and pre-amp tubes, power
tubes are more recent. Some wear overall, most notably some of the
screen print on the faceplate is worn by the inputs and there is some
corrosion on the top of the amp casing. A nice example of a final
Linden-made B-15, an excellent sounding version of this timeless
classic. Excellent - Condition.
