Terry Audio AEQ 'Double Discrete' 500 Series EQ & Line Amp 2026

A direct design from the famed CEQ Mastering Equalizer... now in 500 series form!

Terry Audio manufactures hand selected, ear tuned equipment for both mastering and discerning analog equipment studio needs since 2017, and is used in studios such as Sterling Sound NYC, Metropolis London, A&M Studios, Putnam Hill... and has been the discrete line amp and voicing that has landed on the master print of records for nearly a decade.

The AEQ 500 series is a 'double discrete' equalizer with two independent, true bypass discrete amplifiers:

- The EQ section and it's discrete amplifier is exactly to schematic as the flagship CEQ Mastering Equalizer, without parts substitutions or quality changes, simplified down to a 12-selection US wound inductor High Boost, with both bell and shelf, providing a vintage 'wide Q' boost up like classic valve equalizers. The Low Boost is a fixed 80hz shelf - like many classic console equalizers - and utilizes a paper & foil capacitor for period correct hifi tone. Both filters provide up to +12db of boost.

- The independently switchable Line Amp section switches in a high current Class A biased fully balanced discrete line amplifier with adjustable total line gain from -5 to +12db. A versatile discrete amp stage usable as a ribbon microphone preamp booster, a tone enhancer, and a subtle adjustment to the soundstage and drive of the signal or mix at hand. The max gain of +12dB also doubles as an excellent makeup gain for passive summing busses or for 2-buss and mix sweetening or 'console' tone for reamping analog color and vividity.

Both sections are full true bypass, and can be independently used and engaged, much like vintage console channels.

Highest quality mil-spec Dale resistors, Greyhill switches, sealed relays and Vishay capacitors used for top sound and reliability.
