The D-28 is a favorite of ours that’s consistently wonderful year after year in all respects. Its stunning Sitka Spruce top is just about perfect. Its got some of the best book-matched & crazy grained Brazilian Rosewood back & sides that are simply stunning. Its got most all Martins best features including its Standard X-bracing, Style 28 rosette, its rare & original tortoise pickgard, Select Hardwood Mahogany neck, Solid Ebony fingerboard w/20 frets and Style 28 inlays w/a 1 11/16″ nut width, Solid Ebony Belly-style bridge & perfect Grover tuners with metal buttons. Repro pickgard. Now 56 years old, this is a magical investment in all respects. Its near perfect original neck set has low action & the original bridge was taken down just a bit, she needs nothing at all but a good player. Other than a minor old headstock repair that’s been over sprayed & almost invisible (see photos), it is completely crack free w/no other issues at all. It’s 1 of the best looking D-28’s put there w/fabulous choice woods & tone on a budget. Comes in a nice Martin hardshell case.
