This is a very nice Pre-Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray Bass is good condition.
It is not all original and here are the details:
1) The body manufacture date is 1980 (Serial Number 801394).
2) The neck is 1979 and was a replacement neck for the original which had truss rod issues.
This 1979 neck ending up having truss rod issues also. But instead of replacing this neck I had the truss rod replaced with a very solid new truss rod. This resulted in the truss rod adjustment being relocated to the front of the pickguard (accessible). This neck has a small crack near the bottom but does not affect playability.
3) The original preamp died and I replaced it with a modern Ernie Ball Music Man preamp.
4) The neck has been cleaned and frets have been dressed.
5) Many nicks on the body through years of use.
6) This bass includes the original triangle Music Man Case. This case has also seen some hard times.
One of the latches no longer works.
Overall a very nice sounding bass with lots of history.
