Deering Artisan Goodtime Special Banjo - Midnight Maple

Step into a world of rich, resonant tone with the Deering Artisan Goodtime Special Banjo. This isn't just a beginner's instrument; it’s a professional-grade powerhouse disguised in a stunning Midnight Maple finish. Featuring a high-grade maple neck and rim, this banjo produces the kind of bright, percussive "snap" that Deering is famous for. The inclusion of the patented Goodtime Special steel tone ring elevates the sound, providing a significant boost in volume and a crisp, clear projection that can easily hold its own in a loud bluegrass jam or on a recording session.

What truly sets the Artisan series apart is its vintage-inspired aesthetic paired with modern playability. The neck is adorned with exquisite Pearloid "Artisan" style inlays that pop against the dark, rich stain of the wood. Whether you are following in the footsteps of famous Deering players like Béla Fleck or Mumford & Sons, this banjo offers a comfortable, slim neck profile that makes navigating complex rolls and chord shapes a breeze. The planetary tuners ensure rock-solid stability, so you can spend less time tuning and more time picking.

The heart of this instrument lies in its construction. Built in Spring Valley, California, the Artisan Goodtime Special utilizes a 3-ply violin-grade maple rim. This dense hardwood is known for its focused fundamental notes and quick note decay, ensuring that every note you pluck is articulate and distinct. It’s a versatile machine, perfect for players who want the classic look of a vintage banjo with the reliability and "punch" of a modern steel-tone-ring-equipped resonator.
