New for 2023, the Fender Custom Shop presents the '64 Telecaster Relic electric guitar. Nearly 60 years after its original ancestor, the instrument is brimming with classic mid-'60s references in appearance, sound, and feel, skillfully evoking the Telecaster during one of music's most monumental years.

Its two-piece body is crafted from either select alder or ash—two of Fender's most popular tonewoods—for a well-balanced sound, and features a Relic lacquer finish in Aged Fiesta Red. From the finish coating the body to the smallest dent and scar from the bridge to the headstock, this treatment imparts an authentically worn look and feel, telling the story of a guitar that has seen many years of regular use in clubs and bars.

Other premium features include a three-ply mint green pickguard, vintage-style three-saddle bridge with string-through-body, vintage-style tuners, wing-shaped string tree with tall metal spacer, deluxe hardshell case, strap, and certificate of authenticity.

This 2024 guitar is a Relic piece of art in mint condition and is featured on our shop's Wall of Fame. This guitar chimes like anything before. It's as smooth and comfortable as it first appears. Both the neck and frets make playing a cotton candy experience, while the Dual Mag pickup set gives it that high-end Strat character you'd expect from a Fender Custom Shop, with a unique voice.
