Rare Tangi of Hawaii Koa Violin Ukulele
This instrument is so rare that most of what I learned about this Tangi Violin Ukulele came from a single online article in ukulelemagazine dated December 28, 2023 by Sandor Nagyszalanczy.
Essentially, the Tangi violin ukulele is a modern take on Hawaiian luthier David Mahelona’s similarly shaped classic ukulele of almost a century ago.
Tangi’s koa version is dated 1998 and is in excellent condition. It is fitted with a pickup and looks virtually unplayed, as if it was treasured and not often removed from its case as the years went by. It really should be in a museum.
According to my measurements the Tangi has a total length of 23 1/2 inches and a scale length of 15 inches.
It has a lovely sound and is quite beautiful. But I’ll let the multiple photos speak for themselves.
Please research this instrument (if you find additional information please let me know), study the photos carefully, and ask all questions before purchasing.
Note: We only ship to the contiguous 48 states.
