1956 Holton 45 Deluxe Professional Trumpet in Bb NO CASE

This is one of Holton's professional horns, and the deluxe version of their 45 model trumpet. It features a .458 bore, 4.75" bell, 3rd valve ring, 3rd valve dump slide, and short-throw valves. This particular horn (S/N 290812) was made in 1956. This horn might be in low pitch, as to play in tune the slide has to be in pretty far. It can still play in tune, but be aware the the tuning slide might have to move in more than usual. 

The history on these horns is a slightly confusing rabbit hole. What is true is the specs measured from the horn, and my personal feeling while playing it. I think the horn sounds great, it leans more on the dark side of tone and sounds great for jazz playing. The horn feels great and responsive, considering how much it weighs (seriously, it's a super heavy horn). It is a blast to play, and is a fantastic way to get into a professional horn at a cheaper price point. 

Condition on this horn is good. Valves have good compression, and look in good shape. Some general wear on the finish, and only a few pings here and there. All valves and slides move.
