EMG SPC Presence Control Short Shaft Pot For Strat Often Called The Fat Control-NEW

In brief: The original intent of the SPC was to turn the tone of a single-coil pickup into a dual-coil

The EMG SPC (Strat Presence Control), commonly known as the “Fat Control,” is a powerful tone-shaping accessory designed to add body, output, and midrange punch to your guitar sound. Originally created for single coil pickups, the SPC boosts a broad range of mid frequencies while slightly reducing highs, transforming thin or bright tones into a thicker, more powerful sound similar to a humbucker.

Perfect for Strat-style guitars and other single coil setups, the SPC allows players to instantly achieve a warmer, louder, and fuller tone without changing pickups. As the control is turned up, your guitar gains increased presence, sustain, and overall output, making solos and rhythm parts stand out in the mix.

The SPC is also highly effective with humbuckers, providing additional midrange boost and output for an extra-fat tone ideal for heavy riffs, lead playing, and especially slide guitar applications.

Whether you want to thicken up single coils, push your amp harder, or add more midrange authority to your tone, the EMG SPC delivers versatile active tone enhancement with smooth, musical response.
