Plinky is an 8-voice polyphonic touch synthesizer, specially crafted for delicate, melancholic tonal textures.Many longtime users of the original Plinky have always felt its compact panel makes touch operation rather awkward. This inspired FREEPOET to fully redesign and upscale this beloved compact synthesizer.

The name Plinky 4X derives from its panel area being quadrupled compared to the original unit — giving rise to the "4X" moniker. The surface graphic has also been completely redrawn and reconfigured, delivering more harmonious and refined overall proportions.

Upgrades vs. Standard Plinky v3:

1. Enhanced Control & Visual Experience: The touch panel area is quadrupled, and the original 0.91-inch OLED screen is upgraded to a larger 2.23-inch OLED display.
2. Expanded Audio I/O: All original ports are fully retained; two additional 1/4" TS audio outputs are added, paired with a dedicated physical volume knob for gain control.
3. Built-in Battery Operation: Fully charged, it delivers 8–12 hours of continuous play. No external power supply is required — simply plug in headphones and play anywhere, anytime.
4. Optimized Power Circuitry: Analog and digital circuits are physically isolated by zoning design, resulting in drastically reduced background noise.
5. Integrated Plinky Expander Circuit: Built-in gyroscope detects X/Y axis tilt attitude, with real-time feedback via panel lighting. It also supports parameter modulation through motion sensing control.
6. Low Battery Indication: The power button LED switches from white to red when battery level is low.

Usage NotesWhen using the original Plinky connected to a computer via Touch OSC, while recording with Plinky 4X interfaced to the same computer’s sound card, please connect a DI Box between Plinky 4X and the sound card. This breaks the digital ground loop and provides high-impedance input for the audio interface.
