A 1973 Gibson Les Paul Triumph bass in excellent condition. The electronics are in perfect working order and can generate huge tones through two dual-embossed humbucking pickups.
The natural finish is Honduras mahogany with dark binding. Mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. Very manageable 30 1/2-inch scale with 24 frets. Width at the nut is 1 1/2".
The electronics in this bass were pioneering and unique, offering a wide variety of tonal possibilities.
- Bass, treble, and volume controls — self-explanatory, but the bass and treble controls have a particularly wide range.
- Tone selector — high, normal, and “deep bass”.
- Pickup selector and phase control (when both pickups are selected).
- Impedance selector — High for live use or Low for studio use (or live use with a low-impedance amplifier).
The bass is in very good condition for its age, with only two minor marks visible, and is all original except for replacement Gibson tuners. The bass was refretted in 2020, so the frets are in pristine condition, resulting in excellent playability.
It is fitted with a Hipshot bridge for improved adjustability. The Hipshot bridge fits the mounting holes of the original bridge, which is included.
Recently set up with LaBella flatwound strings.
An Epiphone hard case is included.
