Up for sale is a very unique CUSTOM Vintage Teletronix UREI LA-2A Leveling Amplifier CLONE w/ a vintage Ward-Beck M472A EQ. It was most likely built in the 70's-80's from a fantistic builder on the East Coast with rare parts that reflect a vintage UREI Teletronix LA-2A from Kimberly Productions.

Ward-Beck M472A Equalizer:

Ward-Beck Systems is often considered "Canadian Neve" as they have been manufacturing top quality recording consoles and equipment for decades. The M472A EQ has a deep low end and open top end. Variable frequency on both the midrange and the lows makes this a very versatile EQ for tracking or mixing. The two-position Q-switch helps in cleaning up unwanted "mud" in the midrange. Both modules have their original 1970s active components in place to preserve the analog console sound.

The COMP is warm and soft like you'd expect from an LA2A. There is an R37 side-chain high-pass filter on the front of the unit, Gain and Threashold Reduction knobs on the front and a GR ZERO VU meter adjustment knob on the rear.

The comp works via XLR Line input and XLR Line output jacks. There is also a secondary output XLR cable inside the unit that bypasses the EQ. Of course, you can turn the EQ and use line out on the back.

There is an additional 7-pin XLR mic input on the rear that has an unknown origin. My best guess is that it may have been used as a power supply for a particular microphone but we cannot verify that and do not use it. Also, there is a toggle switch on the front that may be for going back and for to comp/limit or may have been used for the microphone. It's unknow to us.

Absolutely a rare find for a custom LA2A that is actual a vintage clone with a fantastic EQ. Unit has gone through it's paces and sounds outstanding but there is no guarantee or warranty. Tubes will be removed for shipping.
