1984 Roland Juno-106 Analog Polyphonic Synthesizer w/ Original Roland Hard Case – Serviced & Upgraded – MIJ

Few synthesizers have earned “legend” status as honestly as the Roland Juno-106. Equal parts warm, punchy, immediate, and unmistakably ‘80s, the 106 has become a studio staple for everyone from synthwave producers to indie bands to electronic artists chasing that unmistakable analog chorus shimmer.

This particular example is a strong one.

Serial number 435995 places production around June 1984, during the early Japanese production run.

Made in Japan, professionally serviced, upgraded where it counts, and paired with the original Roland molded hard case.

Cosmetically, the synth presents extremely well. The front panel graphics remain clean and vibrant, the sliders feel solid, and overall it has the kind of appearance you hope for when shopping vintage Roland gear. Internally, two of the notoriously failure-prone original voice chips have already been replaced/upgraded, and the memory battery has also been upgraded for long-term reliability. The remaining original voice chips are still present for those who value partial originality.

The original Roland hard case is included and fully functional. It shows honest road wear from decades of transport and storage and is missing one latch, but still protects the synth properly and is becoming increasingly difficult to find on its own.

Sonically, this thing is exactly why the Juno-106 became iconic:
lush stereo chorus, thick basses, glassy pads, punchy plucks, and one of the most immediate programming layouts ever put on a synth. No menus. No nonsense. Just sliders and instant gratification.

A beautiful example of one of Roland’s most beloved analog synths.

Cosmetic Condition

Synth is in excellent cosmetic condition for its age with minor signs of normal use. Very clean faceplate and controls. Case shows substantial cosmetic wear from use/storage and is missing one latch, but remains fully usable and protective.
