Beautifully loved and not abused, with its original case.
7.8 pounds, acoustically very resonant and easy to play, and sounds amazing!
Original 'witch-hat' knobs, and upgraded with new 500k CTS pots, 0.022µF Orange Drop caps over Gavin wire, Switchcraft toggle, and harnessing two matching vintage IBANEZ IBZ TRIPLE MAGNET PICKUPS, each stable above 12k-ohms when at rest. Also, new locking tuners, roller-bridge, and tailpiece. It is currently strung with EB 10s and 'plays like buttah'. Below is a YouTube sample of how those pickups sound in her on a clean setting using my NUX amp. They are my overall favorite pickups, having a deep affection for the 'Super 70', 'Super 80', and 'Super 88' Ibanez vintage models. These seem to embody the earlier models' clarity and tone, but with more balls.
INTERNET SAYS:
IBANEZ triple magnet "Solid Cast" IBZ (1980s): An older version of IBZ pickups from the mid-80s featured a solid cast design to isolate them from feedback. These were typically Alnico 5 magnets with a high output (approx. 13.5k to 15.5k).
The Ventura V2600 is a vintage electric guitar produced in Japan during the late 1960s and early 1970s. It is a high-quality "lawsuit-era" copy of the Gibson Les Paul Custom, known for its solid craftsmanship and "open book" headstock design that closely mimicked the original Gibson aesthetic before legal pressures forced design changes.
- Manufacturer: Built at the renowned Matsumoku factory in Japan, which produced many respected brands like Aria and Univox.
- Body & Neck: Typically features a laminate maple body with a flamed maple top. Most models have a bolt-on maple neck, often with a 5-piece construction for stability and a medium "C" shape profile.
- Hardware: Standard configurations included dual open-coil humbuckers, a tune-o-matic style bridge, and "witch hat" control knobs.
- Tone: Described as having a bright, rich, and powerful sound with strong acoustical presence. Because it often uses maple for both the body and fingerboard, it can sound noticeably brighter than Les Pauls with rosewood or ebony boards
