Saving some of the best from this year's Spring projects for last, we have this beautiful "world-traveler" in need of a new home!
This is a fantastic 2013 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Standard 1957 Reissue Gold top with a Bigsby tremelo in wonderful condition! This one has been around the world, coming back with me from Japan, and she wasn't a case-queen in her lifetime. The VOS finish from Gibson, and some initial natural wear just give this guitar a great "lived in" feel right away. She's got a couple of modifications described below, and is starting to show a hint of buckle rash wear that is only in the top nitro-layer, and hasn't touched the finish. A couple of her knobs also look visibly cracked, though they still have an amazing grip/hold. As a result of the VOS light relicing that these came with, I'm honestly not sure if these are both original pre-aging, or signs of wear. Regardless, I made sure to capture photos of both and wanted to highlight. I also made sure to get good photos of the VOS finish relicing / patina throughout. No dings, scratches, cracks, or breaks – and comes with the original COA and Custom shop booklet, hanger tags, and the extra plain switch panel back plate.
She is a true 1957 spec - neck has that nice rounded neck profile, and original non-weight relieved body style. And those electronics are all vintage PAF sound, as put out by the Gibson Custom Shop itself! She sounds exactly like you want a guitar like this to sound and she plays amazingly well.
Her truss rod functions great, and we did a full fine-tune set-up, dialing in the nut slots a touch, giving her a bit of truss rod relief and a nice low setup to get her ready to make magic. She has two upgrades that really tell you she was a player. Her bridge has been replaced with a Schaller roller-bridge, and it does a terrific job in making sure she returns to proper tuning after using the tremolo; a huge step-up from the traditional bridge. The original bridge is sadly not available. She also has Schaller strap lock buttons installed, with the original strap buttons included in the case compartment.
