If you are looking for a Big Tex guitar, then now is the time to buy, as the company founder and principle builder tragically passed a few months ago, and Big Tex guitars are no longer in productions. These guitars will only get harder and harder to find!
Big Tex guitars are famous among the Telecaster fanatics! The nitro finishes are very thin to give the feel of a well-worn guitar, which also allows the wood to open up and breathe. The finishes are hand-rubbed and polished using old-school techniques. Then the guitar is distressed, including the metal and plastic parts. Big Tex has made several guitars for Billy Gibbons over the years. If Billy likes them, how can you go wrong?
This is a ’53 Blackguard, with a swamp ash body, butterscotch finish, Rio Grande shorthorn pickups, with a nice soft V neck, 6105 frets and 9.5 radius. It’s a nice light weight that’s easy on the back. Includes a Big Tex gigbag.
