The Syntax Error XP is a digital multi-engine chaos pedal — eight sound modes covering glitchy buffer madness, lo-fi reverb, ring modulation, FM warping, frequency shifting, digital distortion, broken pitch shifting, and an envelope-controlled sample crusher. All of it runs on Alexander’s Leap Series platform, which means stereo I/O, 32 presets, an assignable LFO, and enough processing power to make your clean signal sound like a Gateway 2000 on its last legs.

Each mode has its own set of tweakable parameters. The BARF control on Glitch Shift is exactly what it sounds like. The DYNAMIC mode automatically adjusts sample rate based on how hard you play. Expression, MIDI, ramp function, and bypass trails round out a pedal that punches well above its size.
