Martin Super HD28

The Martin Super HD-28 builds upon Nazareth’s timeless Style 28 dread with an expanded body size, taking arguably the most iconic dreadnought recipe in music history to new heights of depth and projection. This oversized acoustic guitar boasts 20% more internal air volume than a standard HD-28, clocking in with a width of 16.375 inches (as compared to the traditional dread’s 15.625-inch width). The result is an instrument with superior volume potential, enhanced dynamic range, and a chest-rattling bass boom — all without compromising on the timeless Martin dreadnought profile. What’s more, this super-sized dreadnought boasts all the hallmarks of the herringbone-laden HD-28, including a Sitka spruce top, forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing, and East Indian rosewood for the back and sides. From flatpicked bluegrass runs to lush, reverberant chords, this time-honored tonewood pairing resounds with harmonic overtones and authoritative low-end firepower. Plus, you also get a select hardwood neck in Martin’s fast-playing GE Modified Low Oval profile, a premium ebony fingerboard, and old-school open-back nickel tuning machines. After nearly a century’s worth of dreadnought dominance, the Martin Super HD-28 is ready to rule as the pinnacle of unplugged power.
