The new brand "Powers Electric," which is attracting attention overseas, is a new brand created by Andy Powers, who also serves as the current CEO of "Taylor Guitars." Andy built his first guitar at the age of seven, and that experience sparked and nurtured a lifelong passion for it. In 2011, he was invited by Bob Taylor to join Taylor Guitars, and in 2022 he became the company's CEO and Chief Designer, where he continues to thrive. Andy is a musician, designer, surfer, and builder, further expanding his field of activity. Raised in his hometown of North County, California, he was greatly inspired by the environment where various cultures such as surfing, skateboarding, automobiles, music, art, and design collide, and "Powers Electric" is created by seamlessly fusing these elements. This instrument is the "A-Type Select Maple / PF42 / Camtail / Blue Lagoon." With its bold looks and dynamic sound, everything about it is new, yet it boasts an astonishing level of perfection. This guitar features a fully closed, slim hollow body construction with a figured maple top and an urban ash body with a hollow structure. Inspired by classic cars, hot rods, and surfboards, the asymmetrical body shape boasts an excellent outline that maintains visual balance from every angle. It has a beautiful see-through blue lagoon top with natural binding and satin black sides and back. The one-piece mahogany neck has a Honduran rosewood fingerboard. The neck shape is slim and comfortable to hold, and the fingerboard radius is a split radius with different radii on the bass and treble sides. The treble side is designed to be slightly flatter, allowing for choke-free bends. It is equipped with original "PF42" pickups, master volume, master tone, and a 3-way pickup selector. Cool-colored hardware knobs, white pearloid pickguard, Delrin bridge saddle, and Kammtail vibrato. This instrument is surprisingly lightweight, fits comfortably in the hand, and yet has excellent body balance. From the crisp, punchy rear pickup sound to the harmonically rich, wide-ranging front pickup tone, this guitar boasts excellent tonal balance and a solid, sustained sound. Even when distorted, the notes retain their clarity, making it a highly versatile instrument capable of covering a wide range of genres, from pop, blues, and jazz to rock and classic rock. While it evokes a classic and traditional feel rather than the modern aesthetic of emerging brands, its ease of use and pitch stability make it a very modern hybrid. The included case is also meticulously crafted, featuring a Pepita pattern leather case reminiscent of the seats used in 1960s Porsches. The case's opening direction is also reversed from typical cases, designed so that the guitar is visible from the same direction as when held. Powers Electric manufactures all its parts in its own California factory, from the pickups, saddles, vibrato, tailpiece metal hardware, and knobs, to the tuners, potentiometers, pickup switches, and jacks. This is not a guitar created by combining existing, commercially available parts and designs. This is a completely new guitar created by Andy for future players, drawing inspiration from the many masterpieces he has owned and experienced. A new style of guitar born from scratch, based on his decades of research and effort. Please experience it for yourself.
