One thing is for certain about this listing, you will never see a cleaner, all original RCA 44 for the rest of your life. It is absolutely identical to what a brand new one would’ve looked like right off the factory floor in every way (including sound).

This microphone is all original, still containing the original parts, except a brand new ribbon which was installed January 2026 Using the original RCA crumpet tool from the original factory! This is quite possibly the cleanest RCA 44 for sale anywhere in the world and one of this condition will certainly never pop up again. I am in no hurry whatsoever to sell this mic, as I know, it will probably be my last chance to own one in ”like new” condition.

What’s more is this particular Rca44 is the best Alnico I’ve ever heard. The original BX American versions were known to be more muddy than the UK versions that utilized an Alnico magnets, which is a bit stronger and yields the same big, beautiful, low end, but also exhibits a much fuller mid/high range, giving you the best of both worlds. With a very little amount of EQ this microphone will sound like your favorite tube powered condenser microphone (in frequency response), something the American Rca44BX is not capable of.

It has been fully restored to look absolutely indistinguishable from what a brand new 44 would have looked like the day it was made. The microphone also has all the original guts, the original transformer, original magnet and original wiring, a brand new XLR pigtail and new long-ribbon that was replaced this year using the original RCA crimper tool from the original RCA factory! The last one that looked like this sold on Reverb about six months ago for $9000. I am in no rush to sell this one to be honest. I’m happy to hang onto it for the rest of my days and be buried with it :)
