This rare model, announced at the 2017 Summer NAMM and born after a limited pre-order period of just under two months, has arrived in stock.

Its design is reminiscent of the “McCarty Soapbar,” released in 1998, which caused quite a stir among PRS fans at the time.

Judging by the serial number, this particular guitar appears to have been manufactured in 2018. Although the top is a standard specification, it features a flamed maple finish reminiscent of the 10Top, making it a truly coveted piece.

The McCarty 594 is a popular model designed to recreate a vintage feel. After Paul measured the scale length of a vintage guitar he owned and found it to be 24.594 inches, he adjusted the scale length of the standard McCarty model to match. With its slightly fatter body and control layout, this guitar offers a finish that comes extremely close to the feel Paul envisioned.

Furthermore, this model was manufactured in 2017 as a limited-time, made-to-order production run. While it typically features two humbucker-style pickups, this version is equipped with a soapbar-style pickup based on a modified Seymour Duncan Antiquity P90.

Although structurally a single-coil pickup, it delivers a rich, sweet tone with a clearer soundstage compared to a humbucker. Its sharp, clear sound is truly unique to this model.

The pickup covers have been replaced with flame maple covers, further enhancing the instrument’s premium appearance. (The original covers are also included.)

The body construction follows that of the McCarty 594, featuring a mahogany back laminated with flamed maple, paired with a mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard.

To achieve a low-end response rivaling that of a Les Paul, the body is slightly thicker than the Custom or McCarty models, but the waist curve is designed to be subtle, maximizing comfort and fit during play.

The neck features an asymmetrical “Pattern Vintage” profile with different carvings on the bass and treble sides, providing a solid grip.

Unlike current models, it is equipped with locking tuners, similar to the Custom series.

The use of brass posts ensures both high-quality tone and easy string changes.

As this is a used instrument, there are minor signs of wear such as small dents and scratches in various places, but nothing that significantly detracts from its appearance.

There is a repair mark on the grip side of the neck, near the 11th fret, but it has been smoothly polished.

There is almost no fret wear, and there is plenty of room left for truss rod adjustment, making this an ideal instrument for those who want to play it hard.

It comes with the original hard case and pickup covers.
