The Taylor 14ce offers the comfortable feel and dynamic tonal character of a full-size Grand Auditorium body with a standard-scale cutaway design, making it an excellent choice for musicians seeking a highly adaptable and dependable acoustic-electric guitar. Its back and sides are crafted from layered African sapele, which provides structural resilience and a balanced tonal foundation, while the solid torrefied spruce top — treated with Taylor’s proprietary roasting process — enhances the top’s natural resonance and tonal complexity. This process not only adds warmth and sweetness to the sound but also imparts a matured, seasoned character typically found in older, well-played instruments.
Internally, the 14ce features Taylor’s innovative cantilevered C-Class bracing, a design that optimizes both sustain and volume while improving the guitar’s low-end presence and overall harmonic clarity. The result is a more expressive, responsive playing experience. The neck is crafted from hard rock maple and designed with a heelless, slender profile, ensuring smooth, comfortable access across the entire fretboard — a hallmark of Taylor’s renowned playability.
Visually, the guitar embraces an elegant, understated aesthetic with a matte finish, minimalist 4mm dot fretboard inlays, and a classic faux-tortoiseshell pickguard. For amplified performances, it comes equipped with the Fishman Sonitone GT-2 pickup system, offering reliable plug-and-play functionality suitable for a wide range of musical environments. The 14ce is shipped in a protective gig bag, making it a ready companion for both stage and studio.
