Up for sale, a 1976 Martin D-76 Limited Edition Bicentennial model, complete with the original molded hardshell case. A rare model limited to 1976 pieces (commemorating the year of America's Bicentennial), this top tier Martin features an Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, herringbone marquetry, and an ebony bridge and fingerboard. Additional Bicentennial-centric accents include pearl star fretboard inlay and an eagle headstock inlay, and this Martin has been outfitted with a Fishman-made Martin Thinline 332+ Acoustic Pickup System.

This Martin delivers tons of muscle and ample projection, with an overarching punchy quality that cuts through extremely well in ensemble situations. The clear, round bass register has a high volume ceiling and excellent string-to-string definition, and the trebles are sweet and sparkling. The installed Thinline 332+ Acoustic Pickup System, designed for Martin by Fishman, is an active undersaddle design that expands the on-stage versatility of the instrument. Weighing 5lbs 3oz, this D-76 has been professionally setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

There are a couple additional repairs on the rims, with broad checking in the nitro lacquer gloss, light buckle rash central to the back, pick scuffing across the soundhole and some additional minor finish scratches and nicks. The nitro gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.
