The Gibson Custom Shop 1959 ES-335 Reissue VOS Vintage Natural is an authentic recreation of one of the most iconic semi-hollow electric guitars ever made. Built as part of Gibson Custom’s Historic Reissue lineup, this model captures the look, feel and tone of a late-1950s ES-335 with exceptional attention to detail.
It features a semi-hollow ES-335 body made from 3-ply maple/poplar/maple with a solid maple center block, giving it the perfect balance between acoustic resonance, sustain and feedback control. The VOS nitrocellulose finish adds a lightly aged vintage character while keeping the guitar elegant and classic.
The neck is solid mahogany with a ’59 Medium C / 50s Rounded Medium C profile, paired with an Indian rosewood fingerboard, 22 Authentic Medium Jumbo frets and pearloid dot inlays. It delivers a substantial vintage feel without sacrificing playability.
Loaded with a pair of Gibson Custombucker Alnico III humbuckers, this ES-335 offers warm, open and dynamic PAF-style tones. The handwired electronics with paper-in-oil capacitors, 2 volume controls, 2 tone controls and a 3-way selector provide classic Gibson response and superb tonal versatility.
It comes equipped with an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, lightweight aluminum stopbar tailpiece, Kluson Single Line / Single Ring tuners, nickel hardware and a beautiful Vintage Natural VOS nitrocellulose finish.
