The classic from Leo Fender. Developed in the early 1950s, the Preci was the first-ever electric solid-body bass.
Made in the USA, year of manufacture: 1977.
Ash body in a timeless sunburst finish.
Maple neck (C-profile) with rosewood fingerboard (7.25" radius) and 20 frets.
Equipped with the original split-coil pickup.
Weight: 4.65 kg.
Comes in the custom case shown, which is probably just as old as this instrument.
The black knob knobs are not original. Neither is the bridge. This is an aftermarket replacement part from the accessories. The original parts are no longer available. In addition, most of the pickguard screws have been replaced.
Considering its age, the bass is in good condition with various signs of wear—see photos.
Of course, there are a few dents and scratches all over, which give this Preci a charming relic look. The original pickguard has been reinforced with a small metal plate around the output jack. The frets show minor wear but are far from needing to be dressed or replaced.
