1958 Hofner Congress is a German-made, small-bodied (14.5"-15") archtop imported to the UK by Selmer, featuring a laminated maple body, 25.5" scale, and a chunky neck, serial number 5977 
Featuring a sunburst finish, and are known for a "parlour" feel. 

1958 Hofner Congress Features & Details:
Serial Numbering found on a label inside the body
Body: Small body size of 19.5" length, 14.5" to 15" lower bout width, and 3" depth.
Top/Back: Laminated maple top and back.
Neck: Maple neck with no truss rod, often described as a "tree trunk" profile, with a rosewood-like fretboard.
Sound: Used for jazz or folk styles.

USED GUITAR! In good condition for the age, some scrapes, scuffs and the expected patina on the wood, this looks great. The scratch plate is
missing which as left the original mounting holes visible.
