Fender Todd Krause Masterbuilt '56 Stratocaster NOS 2024 - Surf Green
One of the finest Stratocasters I've ever had the pleasure of owning, and in my all-time favorite color. This one is particularly special as it's a Todd Krause built guitar, who has been a Master builder longer than I've been playing guitar. For those who don't know, he regularly builds guitars for Clapton, and has built guitars for Beck, Gilmore, Dylan, and many others.
The spec on this is a bit different as it utilizes the modern Fender bi-flex truss-rod and is adjusted from the headstock vs. heel as is typical on CS/vintage guitars. Beyond that, you have the custom inlay work which is certainly a unique twist.
There is some very mild chipping around the walnut truss-rod plug (hard to photograph), but it's minor, and there's one very small blemish on the back. As shown in the photos, it's roughly 2mm x 2mm, and is almost entirely in the nitro, not the wood itself. It's difficult to photograph, but it's important I highlight this defect. Unfortunately this was the condition the guitar came in when I purchased it new (along with the slight chipping around the top of the truss-rod plug) from my local shop. Beyond that, the guitar is WELL beyond "excellent," as there's not a mark, scratch, or blemish beyond what's shown.
Why am I selling? Having now run the gauntlet of Strats/Strat-style guitars, be that every level of Custom Shop, Suhr, James Tyler, Anderson, etc., I have finally realized that I'm just not a Strat player, no matter how much I try to force it. With that in mind, this guitar has spent the vast majority of its life tucked away in its case. I'm strictly a hobby player, so it has never even left the confines of my music room, heck I've never even installed the tremolo arm, evidenced by the tape that's still covering the hole to prevent losing the spring. I'm also excessively careful with my stuff, and tend to baby these non-relic'd guitars to the point where I avoid playing them as often as I should. Shameful.
Weight: 7lb 3.9oz
Includes all original case candy, certificate, shop traveler, etc. I will also include my Stew-Mac 90 degree truss rod wrench, which not only fits the 1/8" truss rod nut more snugly, it's also the perfect size and shape for the 6-inline tuner arrangement.
Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have!
**See last photo (shop floor traveler) for all of the build specs, Tweed case shown on build sheet, but it ultimately came with the black case as shown**
