**Vintage Gibson Small-Body Archtop Acoustic Guitar Sunburst Kalamazoo MI c.1940s**
For sale is a vintage Gibson archtop acoustic guitar, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, likely dating to the late 1930s–1940s based on construction and internal label.
This is a smaller-body Gibson archtop (approximately 14” lower bout) featuring a carved top, trapeze tailpiece, and adjustable floating bridge. The guitar has a full 24.75” scale length, giving it a familiar Gibson feel despite the more compact body size.
The original “Gibson Mandolin-Guitar Co., Kalamazoo, Michigan” oval label is present inside the body, consistent with Gibson’s pre-1950s production.
The guitar shows honest cosmetic wear throughout, including finish checking, scuffs, and areas of play wear consistent with age. It has been cleaned and set up with light gauge flatwound strings, offering a smooth feel and warm, woody vintage archtop tone.
The floating bridge is correctly positioned and fully functional as designed. Overall, this is a great-playing vintage Gibson with tons of character—ideal for blues, jazz, or collectors looking for an authentic small-body archtop.
