For us, it remains one of the very best when it comes to Les Pauls. Whether as a player's instrument or an investment, this guitar is one of the absolute highlights of Gibson's history. It's an exact replica of the '58 First Standard played by Saul Hudson, aka Slash. Even the Gibson Custom Shop says it was their most elaborate project to date in terms of aging and attention to detail. These Les Pauls have long been sold out worldwide and the guitar not only guarantees excellent value retention but is also a top-tier player with superb tonal qualities and a fantastic look. The aging, applied personally by master craftsman Tom Murphy, is unparalleled: countless hairline cracks meticulously placed by hand, plenty of wear marks and simply incredibly authentic! Every tiny detail of Slash's original '58 has been painstakingly recreated here. A dream neck with a comfortable Medium '59 profile, by no means as thick or bulky as some '58 necks. It plays fantastically, especially in combination with its incredible weight of just 3630(!) grams. ...and the sound is, of course, reminiscent of Guns N' Roses: already super resonant when played acoustically, the custom-wound Custombuckers really let loose through an amp.
