The multifunctional discrete VCO is based on a fully discrete circuit and produces very low noise and minimal distortion. It offers five waveforms available simultaneously from the main oscillator and the same number from the sub-oscillator: ramp, sawtooth, triangle, pulse and sine.
Both pulse outputs feature manual and voltage-controlled pulse width modulation (PWM) with a selectable carrier. The vernier control allows for very precise tuning, which is particularly useful for FM sounds. The oscillator can also be switched from high to low frequency to use it as an LFO.
A wide range of modulations is possible thanks to linear and exponential FM inputs, each with its own attenuator. Additionally, the linear input can be switched from DC to AC. There is also a linear detune potentiometer, which allows precise control over beat frequencies when the oscillator is used in conjunction with a second VCO.
This oscillator offers variable synchronisation, adjustable from soft to hard sync via a threshold potentiometer, which is also CV-controllable. Furthermore, you can choose whether the synchronisation responds to the falling or rising edge. A reset input allows the VCO core to be reset, which is useful for generating very consistent or precisely shaped sound sequences.
