Built for musicians who need deep, resonant low-end without sacrificing clarity or playability, the Martin BC-16E delivers a rich acoustic bass experience that’s equally at home on stage or unplugged. Available now at Haggerty’s Music, this instrument tells the story of Martin’s expansion into acoustic bass design — bringing their legendary craftsmanship and tonewoods into a format that supports modern players across a wide range of styles.

At the heart of the BC-16E is a powerful tonewood combination of spruce and East Indian rosewood, offering a balanced voice with strong fundamentals, warm lows, and clear articulation. The Grand Auditorium (0000) body shape provides impressive projection for an acoustic bass, while the Venetian cutaway allows easy access to upper frets for melodic playing. Whether laying down a groove in an unplugged setting or adding texture in a band mix, this bass responds with authority and nuance.

Equipped with Martin E1 electronics, the BC-16E gives players full control of their amplified tone with onboard volume, tone, and phase controls, along with a built-in tuner for convenience. The 34" scale bass neck with a comfortable taper ensures smooth playability, while premium appointments and a softshell gig bag make this a reliable companion for gigs, rehearsals, and travel alike.
