This is my other Takamine F-340. I really like these Takamine F-340.

This one sounds great too. I have never been able to tell which I like more. I am always playing one or the other. This is the little brother of the other because it was made May 17, 1978, the 51st one of that day. It must have been a great day because this sounds sweet.

About the only difference with this one is that it does not have an adjustable bridge like the 1976 one I have. Sometimes I think it may sound better because of that, but then other days I think no, it is just that day and the strings that I have on.

As you can see from the pictures this one is in great condition, it has very minor age spots, but not the usual that you might expect for a 37 year old guitar.

There is nothing not to like about this guitar, it sounds really great. Easy to play. I am moving back to Brazil soon, and I do not want to risk traveling with this one with the climate changes or I wouldn't part with it. I have too much respect for this instrument  and it is too good to take a risk of damage. It belongs in the hands of someone who is going to appreciate just how good these F-340's are, if you have played one you know what I am talking about.

You won't regret getting your hands on this one and making some sweet music. Older guitars really do have better tone, there is no doubt about it and this one is vintage.

Take it off my hands and give it a new home.

Like other Japanese makers of this era, many Takamine guitars from the '70s were based on American models. F-series guitars like the the F-340 were modeled after Martin guitars, down to the styling of the logo on the headstock. This particular model is based on the D-18 with Mahogany back and sides.
