Ibanez M700S - Antique Violin Sunburst High Gloss

If you are looking for that legendary "chop" and a voice that can pierce through a thick bluegrass mix, this Ibanez M700S is your ticket to the stage. Crafted with a solid Adirondack spruce top, this mandolin possesses a stiff and hard soundboard that offers incredible velocity of sound and responsiveness. Unlike other spruces that might break up at high volumes, this Adirondack top remains clear and well-defined no matter how hard you dig in with your pick. It provides a complex, nuanced tone that carries beautifully, making it the perfect companion for lead players who need their melodies to project quickly and cleanly.

The back and sides are constructed from solid maple, a tonewood renowned for its "laser beam" focus and dominance on the fundamental frequencies. This dense hardwood produces a bright, tight sound with a quick decay, which is exactly what you want for percussive, rhythmic playing. The combination of the punchy maple and the ringing Adirondack spruce creates a balanced, professional-grade instrument that will only continue to improve over time as the wood "breaks in" and the tone matures.

Ibanez has long been a staple for versatile musicians, and their mandolin series follows in the footsteps of instruments favored by eclectic performers. While the M700S is a modern powerhouse, it captures the spirit of pre-War cosmetics with its rich Antique Violin Sunburst finish. Whether you are practicing your tremolo at home or holding down the rhythm in a live band setting, this mandolin offers the clarity and volume needed to stand out.
