Something you don't see everyday - a '52 reissue Goldtop made in Nashville, 2012. This 60th Anniversary Edition celebrates six decades since the debut of Gibson’s first solidbody electric guitar. This Nashville made commemorative model pays tribute to the original 1952 Les Paul Goldtop, with vintage-inspired specs and a few key playability improvements.
Features include a Mahogany body with a carved Maple top, finished in a warm metallic gold nitrocellulose lacquer, echoing the look of the earliest Les Pauls. The Mahogany neck sports a rounded '50s profile, substantial in the hand and fairly true to the original design. A standout feature of this model is its vintage-style trapeze tailpiece. An improved version of the original 1952 wrap under trapeze, this version top wraps to better suit the modern player while preserving the look of the original bridge design. The two P-90 pickups deliver a rich midrange, cutting highs, and a raw, open character that responds beautifully to dynamic playing.
Overall this one is in excellent condition as the photos show. The pickguard has been changed (they originally came with a "60th Anniversary" engraving, but otherwise the guitar is all original. A fitting tribute to one of the most important electric guitars ever made—ideal for collectors, vintage fans, and players who want authentic tone with modern reliability. Comes complete with it's original Gibson USA hardshell case.
