Gibson A-50 Widebody 1939
Everything about this mandolin is big, particularly the sound. It's big and bold. The instrument has a beautiful tobacco sunburst finish, front and back. There is a small crack above the f-hole on the treble side (see photo). The back and sides are flawless. The pickguard is MIA.
The mandolin comes with the original redline Gibson case, which is also in VERY good condition. Aside from the removed pickguard, there are no modifications that I can discern. The finish is remarkably free of scratches and dings that you would otherwise see on an instrument of this vintage.
