Up for sale is a beautiful 1981 Yamaha SG1000 in Brown Sunburst, a classic Japanese-made instrument often referred to as a true “Les Paul killer” from the golden era of Yamaha craftsmanship.

This guitar features a mahogany body with a maple top, a 3-piece mahogany neck, and an ebony fretboard, delivering a rich, resonant tone with excellent sustain and clarity. The guitar weighs 4.5 kg, typical for this model and contributing to its solid feel and sustain.

This guitar is in very good overall condition, especially considering its age. It has been very lightly played, which is clearly reflected in the minimal fret wear and the clean overall appearance. The guitar has only a few small dings and light surface scratches, all shown in the photos.

Everything is 100% original, including the electronics. The original pots and the push-pull “B-Sound” system are fully functional and operate smoothly with no noise.

The guitar has been properly set up and plays exceptionally well, with great feel and response. The tuners work perfectly, and overall hardware condition is very solid.

Cosmetically, there is some typical finish haze commonly seen on Yamaha guitars from this era, along with minor signs of wear. The gold hardware (bridge, tailpiece, and tuners) is still in good condition, though it shows some natural aging. The pickups retain their original black color, with slight wear beginning to appear on the bridge pickup.

The original pickguard is included. Please note that one of the control knobs is missing its “Volume” cap, purely a cosmetic detail that does not affect functionality.
