Here is a Giannini classical guitar model GN60. Out of a home, new to the market. No serial number/date stamp. But there is a hang tag and what appears to be the original chipboard case. I sent photos of the label and hang tag to AI, and AI determined that all signs point to this instrument being manufactured in the early 1960s....most likely 1961-1962 The label style is from those years, which are also the years when the labels did NOT have date/serial number stamps. AI further corroborated the hang tag style from the same era.
Many of the Giannini guitars from this era had (now rare) rosewood components along with spruce tops. I am not a wood expert, so please evaluate the photos. This guitar has old strings and the low E is popped. Even with the old strings, the five strings left play well with level flat action. The saddle/bridge looks a bit pulled up in the back, but it's not loose and doesn't move, the neck heel is tight. Other than a new set of strings and some polish, I wouldn't change a thing, but I know some folks might consider steaming the saddle off to flatten it and reattach. I'll leave that decision to the next owner. Comes with what is probably the original chipboard case.
A real golden era Brazilian guitar to play and add to your collection. Don't miss out.
