Up for sale is a cool and underrated 1982 Gibson Sonex-180 Deluxe in classic Cream finish. This is a genuine USA-made Gibson from the early 1980s — Gibson’s affordable “working man’s” guitar with a unique Multi-Phonic body (wood core with resin outer layer) that gives it surprisingly good resonance and a distinctive feel.

Key Features:

• Model: Sonex-180 Deluxe
• Finish: Cream (nice creamy off-white with some honest aging)
• Body: Multi-Phonic construction — lightweight yet resonant Les Paul-style single-cut shape with beveled edge
• Neck: Bolt-on 3-piece maple with rosewood fingerboard, 24¾" scale, 22 frets, dot inlays
• Pickups: Original Velvet Brick humbuckers (exposed-coil design) — fat, punchy tone with great clarity and bite
• Hardware: Chrome Tune-O-Matic bridge, stop tailpiece, 3-way selector, volume/tone controls
• Headstock: Black “Gibson” logo with serial number stamped on the back

Serial Number & Age: Serial number 82302564 (stamped on the back of the headstock). This decodes as a 1982 guitar (first and fifth digits = 8 and 2). These Sonex models were produced only from 1980 to 1984, making this a relatively rare early-80s Gibson.

Coms with hard case.

The Sonex series was Gibson’s budget-friendly experiment with modern materials, but many players love them for their surprisingly versatile tone and comfortable bolt-on neck. This Deluxe model is a hidden gem for rock, blues, or anyone wanting a lightweight, full-sounding Gibson without the premium price tag.

Collection Kent, TN12 or can arrange for pickup in Dagenham, RM9 or possibly London, SW11 but may take a week or two.
