The Sandberg California II VS4 Soft Aged San Remo Blue is known for its exceptional craftsmanship, premium materials, and classic, punchy single-cut-inspired sound. It has been crafted with precision and attention to detail. The bass features a high-quality alder body that delivers a strong, balanced foundation with a clear and articulate low end. The Soft Aged San Remo Blue finish, paired with aged chrome hardware and a mint pickguard, gives it a beautifully understated vintage character with a touch of individuality.
The neck and body have been designed with player comfort in mind. It has a well-balanced feel with a smooth, fast-playing soft aged maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, complemented by elegant abalone inlays. Its comfortable 40mm nut width, 19mm string spacing, and 34” scale length make it instantly familiar and easy to play across a wide range of styles.
This bass comes equipped with Sandberg pickups and electronics, offering a focused and responsive tonal range that captures both vintage warmth and modern clarity. With simple Volume, Bass, and Treble controls, it provides quick and intuitive shaping, making it especially effective for players who want a direct, expressive sound without complexity.
Every Sandberg bass has been Plek’d in the factory. What is a Plek, you ask? A Plek is a computer-controlled fret leveling tool, which in the hands of an experienced tech, can provide an unparalleled fret job. It levels frets with an accuracy of .001″, assists in the process of making nuts, and offers extremely advanced setup functions.
