Step into orbit with a modern classic inspired by one of Paul Reed Smith’s own vintage 1953 instruments. The PRS NF 53 channels golden-era snap and clarity, then propels it forward with precision engineering and unmistakable PRS refinement.
Finished in stealthy Black Doghair, this 2024 model is in mint condition—immaculate, resonant, and mission-ready.
A solid swamp ash body forms the lightweight core (just 6 lbs 6 oz), delivering articulate highs, tight lows, and airy resonance. The 25.5” scale length bolt-on maple neck and maple fretboard add snap and immediacy—perfect for players who want clarity that cuts through any mix like a starship through stardust.
The Pattern 53 neck carve (.875" at the 1st fret, .968" at the 12th) feels substantial yet fast, while the 10” radius and 22 frets provide smooth playability across every register. PRS bird inlays guide your trajectory up the fretboard, and the satin nitro neck finish ensures effortless movement at any speed.
At the heart of this craft lies a set of PRS Narrowfield DD (Deep Dish) pickups. Designed with taller bobbins for additional winds and added metal components between the magnets, they produce a focused, muscular voice—clear and articulate with punch and authority.
From crystalline cleans to gritty overdrive, the simple Volume, Tone, and 3-way blade switch layout allows you to dial in tones with intuitive precision.
The PRS steel plate-style bridge, bone nut, and Phase III tuners with unplated brass shafts work together to provide exceptional tuning stability and enhanced sustain. Nickel hardware completes the look, while the gloss nitro body finish adds vintage warmth and modern elegance.
Whether you’re charting new sonic galaxies or refining your core tone on familiar ground, the PRS NF 53 is an addictive instrument that rewards every touch. Lightweight, dynamic, and endlessly expressive, this Black Doghair beauty is ready for its next mission.
