Bach Stradivarius Model 37 Bb Trumpet (Elkhart) Late 1970s - Silver Plated w/ Gold Bell

The Classic Elkhart Sound

If you are looking at this listing, you likely already know the legendary reputation of a late 1970s Elkhart Bach Stradivarius. This Model 37 is a phenomenal, professional-level trumpet that delivers that signature rich, resonant core sound Bach is famous for. Whether you are leading a jazz combo or cutting through a concert ensemble, this horn has the versatility to do it all.

Condition & Playability:

Aesthetically, this trumpet is in Excellent condition. It features a beautiful silver-plated finish with a stunning gold-plated inner bell. To ensure it’s in top-tier shape for the next owner, I recently took it to a professional technician for a deep cleaning and minor dent removal. It is now looking and playing its absolute best.

Mechanically, this Strad is an absolute dream. Thanks to a complete rebuild and refurbishment by the previous owner, the valve action is incredibly fast and smooth, and the slide mobility feels fresh out of the factory. It will play with fantastic compression and slots beautifully across all registers.

History & Why I’m Selling:

Prior to my ownership, the trumpet underwent a thorough rebuild and refurbishment to restore its mechanical brilliance. Over the last two years, I have meticulously cared for it, reserving it strictly for performances. It was never subjected to the wear and tear of daily outdoor marching practice and has been treated with the respect a professional instrument deserves.

As I move further into my university studies and focus on my upcoming career in engineering, I simply don’t have the time to play this horn as much as it deserves. It’s too good of an instrument to sit in a case, and I’d love to see it go to a player who will use it to its full potential.
