Based on the serial number on the pickups,

this is a great-value used model manufactured around 1982.

Since the introduction of the SG175 in 1974 and the SG2000 in 1976,

the Yamaha SG series has been Japan’s flagship electric guitar, making its mark both domestically and internationally.

Big stars like Carlos Santana, who was involved in its development, and Masayoshi Takano

all played this SG.

On iconic Showa-era music shows and live stages,

celebrities could be seen playing the SG or its sibling model, the BB,

inspiring countless young guitar enthusiasts.

Though the Heisei era has ended and the Reiwa era has begun,

there are still many users who love the YAMAHA SG series—a quintessential masterpiece of the Showa era.

Its appeal lies in the exquisite craftsmanship that reflects the skills of Japanese artisans,

as well as its solid sound—a quality that major imported instruments simply cannot match.

There are signs of wear from playing, such as scratches and dirt.

The frets have about 60% of their original depth remaining.

The metal parts, such as the bridge, show some tarnish and discoloration.

The truss rod moves freely in both directions. Currently, the neck is stable, with no significant warping, making it easy to play.

The dual-sound feature, a hallmark of this model, functions normally.
