KORG Polysix Analog Synthesizer 1981 – a new star is born

Condition is very good: The instrument underwent a complete overhaul, including component replacement and battery replacement, in 2025. Everything is in its original condition with no modifications. Well-maintained appearance with minimal signs of use.

The KORG POLYSIX was released in 1981. As the sibling of the MONOPOLY, which was released at the same time, the POLYSIX is a 6-voice polyphonic VCO synthesizer with 32 presets. It was regarded at the time as an affordable alternative to the PROPHET-5 and was a commercial success. Clear architecture featuring a VCO (+sub-oscillator), VCF, VCA, and an envelope, as well as an LFO. As with the MONOPOLY, Korg utilized the best components available at the time for its polyphonic sibling: the VCO, VCF, and VCA ICs from the American manufacturer SSM (later Curtis chips). These very same integrated circuits were also used in the legendary PROPHET-5.
