Hello and welcome to The House of chrome.

You are looking at a great general purpose microphone made by Electro Voice during the 1980's with good sound quality that was made for general broadcasting. This is the 634B model and it comes with an original box, data sheet, short 5 foot cable in which to operate as well as the Atlas DS-7 model desk stand.

Pic # 2 is from an older E.V catalog showing the 641 and 634ASRL models. Just slightly different than the 634B in this listing. All are very similar in the family tree however. The original 634B had a chrome upper half portion with a different design. The 634B for sale in this listing was the second generation model with the flat screen and rounded bezel.

It should be noted that this 634B is omni-directional as picking up a little more background than a uni-directional mic. This mic is dual Z depending on how it's wired and this one is currently set at high Z having no bass in the tone. This will make for a good HAM radio mic or for other basic communication purposes.

Made right here in the U.S.A 40 + years ago. Thoroughly tested and cleaned this 634B has 100% signal output. Everything is tight. No loose parts.

The mic is basically perfect with zero cosmetic wear on the painted plastic body. There are no dents or fractures. The black plastic bezel is free of dents or cracks. No tarnish on the front grill and no odors. The 634B is a very lite weight design. I'd rate it a very conservative 9 +++ on a scale of 1 -10. Please let the detailed pics be your guide. The threads for the gooseneck are excellent. The 634B badge looks excellent with zero wear and completely legible. This one is ready to plug in and play.

The mic comes with a short chrome 45 degree angle adapter that screws right into the mic. That adapter screws onto the top of the Atlas DS-7 stand giving you even more height.   The cable on the mic is soft, pliable and free of damage. It's 5 feet long and runs through the adapter as well as the stand exiting out the rear of the cast iron base. The cable has a standard male 1/4 inch end connector for use with most audio equipment and all guitar amplifiers.

The Atlas DS--7 desk stand makes for a great, stable platform and really compliments the mic. It's in very nice condition with very lite physical wear and has 3 original rubber pads on the bottom to keep it from scratching any surface it sits on. The chrome is very nice and corrosion free. Just a few tiny scratches here and there. The black painted base looks fantastic as well.

The DS-7 allows you to adjust the height as the top chrome riser can raise up an extra 5 inches if needed. The center clutch mechanism works perfectly as well.

You'll notice the mic comes with it's original box. The box does show wear but always a great accessory to have. The mic also comes with the original data sheet which will really come in handy showing all the specs on this mic and how to wire it correctly if you want to change the end connector for Low Z capabilities.

A great package deal all around.

If you need a unique, affordable general broadcasting mic...this is your girl.
