Here is a Stevie Ray Vaughan #1 Wife Stratocaster inspired tribute guitar made from top shelf parts. This is not intended to be an exact replica of Stevie's famous #1 Strat, but rather a beautifully aged 3-tone sunburst strat made from an MJT Alder heavily aged relic 3-tone sunburst body, an aged All Parts SMO-C neck (Small-C profile, 10" fretboard radius, 6105 frets) inspired by the neck on Stevie's #1. The back of the neck has a raw, played in feel, so it plays and feels like an old vintage strat that has seen many miles on the road. Stevie claimed the pickups on his #1 strat were stamped with 59 on the bottom of the bobbins so he thought they were Fender 1959 pickups. However, Stevie's guitar tech, Rene Martinez, is on record as saying that the pickups were the stock pickups that originally came with his 1962/63 Fender Stratocaster, which eventually became Stevie's #1 strat. So I split the baby for this tribute guitar and went with 2 Fender Pure Vintage 1959's and 1 Fender 57/62 pickup, and they sound tremendous in this guitar. Fender Left-handed gold tremolo just and gold hardware. Guitar comes with a hardshell case.
