Japanese Mexican.
Here is a rare one. It's a transitional period strat from 1990-1991. This was the period when Fender was moving production from their Fujigen, Japan factory to their new factory in Ensenada, Mexico. This would be before the famous fire that destroyed the plant in 1994. During the transition, Fujigen luthiers were brought over to train the new builders as well as all remaining necks and bodies! It gets better, all of the electronics at this time were from the USA factory. That means it's one of the last Fender's of the first period of Japanese luthier expertise, with Fender USA electronics and one of of the first ever produced in Ensanada. The serial will not comes up in a standard Fender serial search as 1990 Ensanada confirming the year of transition. We will remove the neck and scratch-plate to provide authentication for a serious buyer. Making it even more unique, big money was spent at the time to have a trio of vintage (new at the time) EMG single coils installed (the battery compartment is underneath the pickguard) making it a hot-rod.
The body is Japanese Sen (swamp) Ash so it heavier than an Alder body. Maple neck. Very low, fast action. This is a player's guitar and has a gorgeous, worn feel and honest age marks. It is hand down one of the nicest feeling strats we have ever had (we don't sell them often). It plays and sounds like a rock star.
