Roland CR-8000 CompuRhythm 1980s - White
Roland CR-8000 CompuRhythm
Classic and rare drum machine, used on countless records. Delivers the fat analog sound that made Roland famous.
Used by artists such as Prince, New Order, Phil Collins, Fluke, Blondie and countless others.
The unit offers great flexibility, with individual volume controls for many sounds (kick drum, hi-hats, hand claps, etc.).
The unit has been tested and is in fine working condition. It was used in a home studio only.
Known issues:
- Some of the potentiometers are a bit noisy (common and easily fixed with contact cleaner).
- Bank selector 1 works fine at power-up, but after switching to bank 2 or 3, it cannot be switched back to bank 1 during operation. Switching between banks 2 and 3 works perfectly. Switching off and on the unit activate Bank selector 1 function again (see pic 8).
A possible solution (based on online discussions) is replacing the rubber padding beneath the button, which may have lost elasticity due to age. Alternatively, this could be a user-handling issue, as no manual is included.
