Over the decades, we have had pretty much every classic guitar model ever made come through our doors. This Gibson ES-355 from 1964 is right up there with some of the nicest ones.

The guitar is in very good condition.

It has some small dings and minor wear on the back of the neck. There is a larger patch on the back of the guitar where the clear coat is worn off. Other than that, the guitar is pretty clean with no damage or wear on the top.

The tail piece and Bridge have the usual corrosion.

The frets and fretboard are in good condition, the frets have some minor playing wear, but there is plenty of life left in them.

Changes from original :

The tuners were replaced in the 70s with the same Schaller tuners that Gibson was using during that era. (Stamped Made in W Germany)

The original Kluson Waffleback tuners are in the case.

The gold covers have been removed (also in the 70s) and replaced with stylish brass rings.

The pickguard is in excellent condition and has not disintegrated as sometimes happens.

Hardware is in good condition and working perfectly.

Electrically all is correct with 2x early PAT Number pickups which sound great! All pots and wiring are original so far as we can see.

The guitar comes with its correct hardshell case.

This is a well balanced instrument with a confident, rootsy acoustic tone. The neck is comfortable and familiar with easy access to the upper frets. The Patent number pickups add that classic punch, bite and warmth, arguably the last of Gibson’s classic humbucking pickups .
